New Peanut Butter Experience: Pic's Really Good Peanut Butter (Review...Sort of!)

Wednesday, August 6, 2014

So today, I had to go grocery shopping...alone. Sometimes I love doing it alone, and just going through one aisle after another, and then back again. I love discovering new food or new brands. On the other hand, I tend to over buy things I don't really need or even want. And I always end up buying more than my budget and even worse, more than what I can carry. And when I get home, my hands and fingers are cursing me silently as blood has drained out of them.

It's not everyday you find awesome grocery finds. But today was amazing! I found a new peanut butter brand that caught my attention because of the packaging, or should I say, label. I love labels that looks organic, homemade or anything that looks human made. This one shows awesome use of fonts and is very catchy, what with the phrase 'Really Good'.

Sold here in Singapore at $7.15, I find it a bit steep compared to Jif or Skippy. But then again,if it is indeed 'Really Good', then the price would all be worth it. So I snatched it and off I went, excited to take it home and gobble it down! There were 2 variations. One was labeled 'Original' and the one I got was 'Smooth'. I decided to get the Smooth one only because I didn't like chunky peanuts in my PB. But then again, I am not sure if the original one had chunky peanuts in it. I will probably buy it next time just to satisfy my curiosity.

Finally, the taste test. Yum! It is Really Good compared to the processed peanut butter. One good indication that it has been naturally made is the oil on top. One must take their spoon and stir it in. The taste is almost similar to my mom's cooking. I still say that my mom's PB is the best in the world! But this is very very close. Surely the best peanut butter sold in any grocery store in Singapore. It has a very well balanced taste of peanuts and butter and salt. There is nothing too much about it. It is perfection. It is heavenly! It is is also very popular in New Zealand seeing as it has thousands of posts with #picsreallygoodpeanutbutter. It is a must try! And the price is worth it, so worth it!

Love the way they made the label!
Love the information at the back! Really easy to understand!

Side note: This is a personal unbiased unpaid review. I bought this with my own money and no one asked me to review it.

  1. Hi Audrey, nice review! Where can I buy a jar of the above in Singapore? My Cousin from Papua New Guinea tasked me to get one for her.

Thank you very much for your help!
