Fun Facts : Living With Gamers

Living with 2 hardcore gamers has its benefits and makes some crazy and out of this world daily life experiences. Read on for some fun(ny) facts about living with the gamers.

1. Games have incredible sound effects. Get ready to get your eardrums torn. Awesome earphones like the Creative Sound Blaster works wonders. Let them immerse themselves in the world of gaming, while you peacefully read your book.

2. Take advantage of gaming tournaments for blackmail. It turns out, gaming tournaments are like Black Fridays or like the Great Singapore Sale to the gamer. A lot of games and "weapons" or "tokens" are on sale. He can get crazy and I use it to get what I want.

3. You can sneak out and come back without being noticed when a game is live.

4. Their sense of hearing are automatically shutdown, during live games.

5. Never rely on a gamer to open the doors when a game is live and cannot be paused. Even if you're stuck outside after forgetting the house keys (happened twice, NEVER FORGET YOUR KEYS especially if a gamer is your only chance to get inside).

6. Familiarizing with gamers language and codes. Mr. B always says GLHF before I leave for work. And when a chore or an argument is done, he goes "GG".

7. Getting used to late night or early morning sudden screaming and mouse banging when they are winning or loosing.  "First Blood!" " GG!" (again, gamers language, or DOTA language). It's no emergency, go back to sleep.

8. Gamers are great problem solvers. They solve issues like a quest or a mission on a game.

9.  Do not disturb when there's a dragon.  Dragons and mythical creature are real. Never argue.

10. They have incredible stamina. They can go without food for 12 straight hours. Soda is sufficient.

11. "Last game" never means "last game".

12. They are very calm. Fingers never leave the keyboard, even if there was just an earthquake.

13. Commentators on games can talk incredibly fast, like a thousand words per minute.

14. They learn to appreciate your cooking, no matter how it tastes like, as long as it's edible enough,  because they haven't eaten in hours.

15. Give them time to play, and they treat you like a Queen.
